He is experienced in leadership and management and has a proven track record of successfully overseeing teams and operations. He take's pride in his ability to effectively communicate and problem-solve and is always looking for ways to improve and excel in his role.
James Davis spent 10 years in The United States Marine Corps receiving multiple meritorious awards including Marine of the Year for Company K, MARSPTBN, Adak Alaska. James has an M.S. Management, including a minor in Clinical Counseling and a B.S. Bible/Ministry.
He joined the City of Venice in 2017 after spending five years in Code Enforcement with Collier County and Charlotte County. Some of the accomplishments include development and approval of Standard Operating Procedures for Code Enforcement processes which formalize response times, case enforcement elevations, and various procedural guidelines in the officers’ daily routines. During the first month of joining the City of Venice Supervisor Davis also performed a Workflow Analysis Study to provide data for equity of case assignment and for determination of officer resource planning.
One of his significant accomplishments came from developing a transition of Code Enforcement that integrated with the Police Department combining civilian police service aides and code enforcement to become the new unit called Community Resource Officers. He is currently certified in all available levels with the Florida Agency of Code Enforcement.
